Struncheon Hill Lock looking from the top gates towards the River Hull (20 miles from the River Humber) at the end of the tidal section. The bottom gates have standard BW paddle gear. The top gates will accept (just if used with care) the larger size of windlass required on BW locks. The Top paddle gear requires a special (square approximately 1½ inch centre windlass). Note that Yorkshire Water sign gives the name as Hempholme Lock.
