Struncheon Hill Lock top gates paddle gear with one
paddle raised (note the windlass on one of the top paddles.) The weed in the
Navigation above the lock is cut each year to reduce water level's. It
is then allowed to float's down to Struncheon Hill. Were it is held back by
a boom across to prevent it from entering the River
Hull. The crane in the background is used by Environmental Agency to
remove weed. The weir is to the right of the crane. |
