Code of Conduct for Boat Owners and Operators.

  • All craft must display an identification name or number.
  • All craft must display a current registration card.
  • All motorised craft must adhere to the speed limit, which is 4 m.p.h. (the equivalent of a brisk walking pace.)
  • Proceed carefully past moored boats and anglers.
  • No sewage or oils may be discharged into the water.
  • All sea toilets are to be sealed to prevent discharge.
  • No rubbish to be dumped in the water or on the banks.
  • Do not leave fishing tackle in the water unattended.
  • Do not leave broken lines or old gear lying on the banks or in the water, it can cause a hazard to wildlife (and propellers!).
  • Do not disturb vegetation unnecessarily, keep to the path if possible.
  • Do not pick or uproot flowers or plants.
  • Report all instances of damage to the other party.
