Built in 1924 at the Henry Scarr Boatyard in Hessle, East Yorks and launched on 23/3/1924. Registered No. 19/1924 Hull. Gross Tonnage 63.61, Registered Tonnage 43.25. Last known Registry No. 147138. Built for John Hunt & Sons (Leeds) Ltd to "soap house" dimensions (able to pass through River and Arches locks on the L&L canal), 62ft x 14ft 8" for a factory in Leeds and called HUNT'S - EDEN. Subsequently converted to power and in 1946 (Reg No. 115/1946) records show that a 3 cylinder Ruston & Hornsby 30 BHP engine was fitted. There are a number of traces of the chain plates and the mast beam that confirm that she originally had been keel rigged. Sunk in the Ouse in the 60's and lifted out by the same company, Lincoln & Hull Marine who also had her in dry dock for 4 weeks doing up the hull and installing a keelson at the end of 1999. Purchased by Earnest V. Waddington in 1969 for £102, renamed EDEN and used to carry steel beams form Goole to Rotherham. Refurbished Lister HA3 engine with Lister 3:1 gearbox fitted. Sold out of service in 1998. Recently given number 1800 by the National Register of Historic Vessels. Presently being fitted out in Goole, the Lutchet and Mast Beam is now in place although the first sailing date is a long way off in the future. Enquiries are being made on a suitable mast, followed by a decision whether it will be a traditional wooden one or steel.
