The Humber Keel & Sloop Preservation Society operate the Humber Keel 'Comrade'
and Humber Sloop 'Amy Howson' from South Ferriby during the sailing season.
Both vessels sail but not on a commercial basis, anyone interested in
experiencing sailing in a traditional craft, from individuals to
interested groups are welcome (see Services Offered By the Society). During
there hay days Keels were used on Yorkshire Waterways and Canals. Today
only two square rigged Keels remain under sail "Comrade" and a privately
owned one on the River Thames. |

This site has been created in appreciation of a days
sailing on 21st July 2001
on the Humber Keel "Comrade". With thanks to the crew, just
a pity I cannot remember the five hours of jokes! Thanks to the
Societies Archivist Brian Peeps for the pictures in the Amy Howson and
Comrade Gallery.
