Snakeholme Lock

Snakeholme lock after it was re-opened on the 18th April 2003

Looking down the Navigation towards the lock from the B1249, the Fish Farm is on the left.

Looking up the lock chamber, new top lock gates were fitted in May 2000. The fixed stop planks in front of the gates were used to keep the water level as the old top gates were dilapidated. Complete restoration (fit bottom gates and cleaning out of the lock chamber) was carried out November 2001. Work started on the bottom gates 5th November 2001 (see picture below).
